Jessica's Top 10 Photo's of September 2021

Once a month our creative team gathers together to look through that month’s photoshoots.

It is an inspiring evening where we  give each other feedback,  hear the amazing stories of our clients and create new Ideas for the next month.

Each of our photographers will share their favourites from that month, here are Jessica’s…

My favourite photos from September 2021…

1. WARRIOR WOMAN.

Inspired by strong warrior women like Xena, Ellen Ripley and wonder woman, Marie wanted to show case her strength and determination in her portrait.

Wearing an ancient stone age hunters outfit,  a powerful expression and welding a very sharp spear, she looks baddass!

2. more than ordinary.

IMAGE #1: The concept of transformation, fantasy and otherness was important for Stacey

Wanting to avoid the “classic pretty” images Stacey wanted to create portraits that played into her darker fantasies becoming the twisted fairy and ancient goddesses from mythology. Using golden head pieces, creative makeup, feather cloaks, fairy wings and silk fabrics.

IMAGE #2: I combined these two images together, suggesting at a duality of self.

IMAGE #3: In this third image I love the shape her arm and body make, gracefully rising up like a swan’s neck. Swans in Celtic folklore often feature in stories of transformation

3. GOTHIC - DOUBLE EXPOSURE.

Often women feel a need to dampen their self expression to fit in with societies norms. Nicole wanted to fight against that barrier and create portraits the celebrated her love of all things Dark and twisted, opting to wear Pale Tim burton ghost makeup and gothic clothing. I shot this portrait as a multiple exposure to create a sense of divergence.

4.  FANTASY BRIDE

With dark comes light, Nicole also brought along this wedding gown to change into. With her pale blond hair, she looks like a ghost bride dancing at a masquerade ball.

5. TRANSFORM WITH WINGS.

Wings are one of my favourite pieces to incorporate into glamour sessions. A long skirt and a pair of wings will transform any woman into a Queen, add in a crown and you can rule the world.  I choose to use our lighter cream background for this portrait, allowing the shape of the wings to stand out.

6. Victoria Secret Vibes..

7. SOFT AND CLASSIC.

Using a draped neutral coloured fabric to subtly provide coverage for nudes, I feathered the light on the side of her body so that the light helped to shape the long lines of her limbs.

8. PURE BEAUTY.

There is something about the combination of beautiful women, flowing fabric and Rembrandt style lighting that I find so beautiful in portraits.

I imagine these women are goddess’ from Greek mythology, feminine, artistic and powerful. I loved the golden tones against Tsibutile’s warm skin tones, this portrait looks so silky and rich.

9. TULIPS.

Flowers are a beautiful prop to incorporate for glamour photoshoots, not only because of the femininity associated with them but because they can add symbolism and sentimentality. These  pink Tulips acting as a reference for Olivia’s birthplace in Belgium, she is holding her history close to her heart.

10. strength of support.

A photoshoot  can be a nerve wracking experience for many people, it is a good idea to gather strength from the women around you, Marciel took this advice literally.

Having gone through a dramatic personal journey she wanted to find a way to celebrate the journey of finding empowerment with a photoshoot, gathering together the women who have supported her.

This photoshoot was a revealing, therapeutic and hilarious session with so much laughter, many glasses of champagne, it was a privilege for our studio to capture these moments for you Marciel.

See you next month
