Jessica's Favourite photos of 2024 - Part 1
Dearest Readers,
I am Jessica Truscott, one of your photographers here at Zest Photography Perth. Today, I am thrilled to share a selection of my favourite portraits from this year.
Narrowing down to just 28 photos has been no easy feat. Each photoshoot brings its own unique magic, and every woman who steps in front of my camera has a story to tell. I have had the honour of working with so many incredible clients, each bringing their own essence and energy to the studio.
In these images, you'll notice a recurring theme of fantasy and goddess inspired elegance.
I have always been fascinated by the ethereal, the otherworldly, the way light and shadows can sculpt and define the female form. Using techniques like Rembrandt lighting and silhouettes and drapery I have sought to create images that not only showcase the beauty of my subjects but also evoke a sense of Romanticiscm and elegance.
Flowing silk fabrics play a significant role in many of these portraits. There is something so magical about the way silk drapes and moves, capturing the light and adding a dynamic, almost living quality to the images. It’s as if the fabric itself becomes a character in the story we are telling, a shimmering ethereal and mysterious element.
As I sifted through the many images from this first part of 2024, I found myself drawn to portraits that spoke to the soul, that encapsulated the essence of feminine elegance in its purest form. the simplicity of classic nudes. These are not just photographs; they are windows into a world where every woman is a goddess in her own right.
Every portrait session is a collaboration. It's about creating a space where my clients feel empowered and seen, where they can express different facets of themselves. Whether it’s through a subtle glance, a powerful pose, or the delicate interplay of light and shadow, my aim is to capture the inner goddess that resides within each woman.
This year, we've embraced the fantasy element more than ever before, drawing inspiration from myths and legends. Each portrait is a fine art rendition of the feminine spirit. The feedback from my clients has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am so grateful for their trust, bravery and enthusiasm.
